VIKING NATION WELCOMES NEW HEAD BASKETBALL COACH
Coach Marvin Green has been selected as the new Head Boys's Basketball Coach at Juan Navarro Early College High School in Austin ISD. Coach Green is a consistent and disciplined leader with a strong background in player development and team building. He most recently served as the Varsity first assistant Basketball Coach at Humble High School in Humble ISD, where he played a pivotal role in leading the team to its most successful season in five years, competing in Texas's toughest district. His impact was felt both on and off the court, particularly in assisting to establish a strong defensive identity and fostering a culture of accountability and togetherness.
Highly regarded for his defensive expertise and his ability to earn players' trust and buy-in, Coach Green brings deep basketball knowledge, high energy, and a proven track record of building competitive programs. His leadership is expected to raise the bar at Navarro, both on the court and in the classroom, by fostering a culture of excellence, discipline, and unity.
Coach Green's coaching foundation was built at Dallas Skyline High School in Dallas ISD, where he learned under the mentorship of Paul Graham, a former Washington State University Head coach and longtime Division I assistant with over 30 years of experience at SMU, Oklahoma State, New Mexico and Colorado. While at Skyline, Green developed a strong understanding of high-level basketball fundamentals, advanced strategy, and the importance of shaping student-athletes into leaders.
Coach Green is a graduate of Southern University and A&M College. Coach Green and his wife, Ashley, have one daughter, Willow.
We are very excited to welcome Coach Green and his family to Viking Nation and we look forward to a new era of success under his leadership.
