The Lady Viking Basketball Team has started the season off strong with an 8-2 preseason record. Upsets to Cedar Creek and Rouse have been the highlights of the young season. Led by four-year Varsity Letterman: Paulete Mbuangi and Andrea Jaramillo, the Viks look to improve on last year's playoff berth. Mbuangi, who is a two-time district Offensive Player of the Year, has been a dominate offensive force, averaging 24 points per contest. Her scoring prowess is complemented perfectly on the court by the poise of Junior point guard Crystal Shaw and the defensive dominance of Junior forward Ciannah Degante. Meanwhile, Jaramillo brings veteran IQ and does a little bit of everything for the Viks, while Junior guards Laela Diaz and Anissa Luna round out the scoring punch. The Viks just finished the Crockett Preseason Tournament with an impressive 5-1 record and will tip off with Bastrop at home this Monday 11/20 at 11am to close out the preseason. Come out and support!
